Apple Galette

I found vegetarian pre-made refrigerated pie crusts at Publix, and had to decide what to make with them! It was a 2-pack, so with the first one I made this! I have to say, I was a little disappointed in this. The crust just didn’t taste like a pie crust to me. It almost tasted like a biscuit! Maybe I should have let it cook longer?  But, that didn’t stop me from eating it (with a couple of scoops of vanilla ice cream on top!). My kids liked it a lot. And this was super easy to make!

Apple Galette
(http://damndelish.com/)
Ingredients:

3 apples peeled, cored, and sliced
1 tbsp of all-purpose flour
3 tbsp of granulated brown or white sugar
1 tbsp fresh lemon juice
2 tsp cinnamon
1 tbsp melted butter
1 pie shell

Directions:

Preheat your oven to 350 degrees. Take all the ingredients other than the pie shell and mix in a bowl. Lay pie dough on flat sheet pan, pour mixture in center of dough round and fold in the edges of the pie shell. Note the center will remain open, you are not folding or sealing the dough, but merely curling the edges inward. Bake for 30 minutes or until edges are golden brown, let cool & serve.
